Job Description:
The function of this position is to oversee Alcon's participation in all home office budgeted conventions and exhibits - from planning to successful execution. Frequent interactions with external vendors and customers, as well as internal sales and marketing groups, and international affiliates are required to ensure successful promotion of Alcon's key products at a highly visible and global level.
Primary Accountabilities / Essential Functions
1. Supervises and develops team of five (5) Conventions Administrators and one (1) Conventions Coordinator. Leads members to successfully meet annual individual and group objectives.
2. Establishes and manages payroll and T&E budgets. Contributes to and manages events budgets, as established jointly with stakeholders. Ensures accurate records are maintained and reported in a timely manner, as established by management.
3. Accountable for Alcon's successful participation in all conventions and exhibits meetings which are budgeted from FW. This includes global events, which will require some domestic and international travel. Ensures all events are presented in the highest and most professional, ethical, and cost effective manner while adhering to PhRMA code and AdvaMed guidelines.
4. Facilitates collaboration and communication with and between staffers, management, internal and external customers, suppliers, as well as medical associations and societies, etc. to ensure group objectives are met.
5. Responsible for the development of supplier relationships which result in the seamless management of programs and which ensures cost effectiveness for all meeting stakeholders. Reviews and approves proposals, contracts and invoices within grant of authority.
6. Personally plans and executes any combination of the following types of conventions and exhibits meetings as established by Manager, Global Conventions: International, Domestic A-, B-, C-, and D-level conventions meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in any discipline, with marketing and finance courses, plus 5 years solid experience in global conventions planning, with at least 2 years supervisory experience. Good analytical skills; ability to manage budgets and projects; and knowledge of PhRMA code and AdvaMed guidelines.

Job Description:
The function of this position is to oversee Alcon's participation in all home office budgeted conventions and exhibits - from planning to successful execution. Frequent interactions with external vendors and customers, as well as internal sales and marketing groups, and international affiliates are required to ensure successful promotion of Alcon's key products at a highly visible and global level.
Primary Accountabilities / Essential Functions
1. Supervises and develops team of five (5) Conventions Administrators and one (1) Conventions Coordinator. Leads members to successfully meet annual individual and group objectives.
2. Establishes and manages payroll and T&E budgets. Contributes to and manages events budgets, as established jointly with stakeholders. Ensures accurate records are maintained and reported in a timely manner, as established by management.
3. Accountable for Alcon's successful participation in all conventions and exhibits meetings which are budgeted from FW. This includes global events, which will require some domestic and international travel. Ensures all events are presented in the highest and most professional, ethical, and cost effective manner while adhering to PhRMA code and AdvaMed guidelines.
4. Facilitates collaboration and communication with and between staffers, management, internal and external customers, suppliers, as well as medical associations and societies, etc. to ensure group objectives are met.
5. Responsible for the development of supplier relationships which result in the seamless management of programs and which ensures cost effectiveness for all meeting stakeholders. Reviews and approves proposals, contracts and invoices within grant of authority.
6. Personally plans and executes any combination of the following types of conventions and exhibits meetings as established by Manager, Global Conventions: International, Domestic A-, B-, C-, and D-level conventions meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in any discipline, with marketing and finance courses, plus 5 years solid experience in global conventions planning, with at least 2 years supervisory experience. Good analytical skills; ability to manage budgets and projects; and knowledge of PhRMA code and AdvaMed guidelines.
